Title: Study of the expression control mechanism of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) gene; Toward understanding of the expressions of higher order functions of the brain-nerve system and creations of new drugs
Abstract: 神経栄養因子ファミリーの一員であり、記憶や学習に代表される高次脳機能発現に必須の因子である脳由来神経栄養因子（BDNF: Brain-derived neurotrophic factor）は、様々な神経・精神疾患との関連性も深く、これら疾患のバイオマーカーや創薬ターゲットとしても注目されている。我々は、特に神経細胞におけるBDNF遺伝子の発現制御メカニズムに着目した研究を進めている。本セミナーでは、これらの研究成果を紹介しながら、BDNF遺伝子発現制御と脳・神経系の高次機能発現や疾患との関わり、さらには神経・精神疾患の創薬を目指した我々の現在の取り組みも合わせて紹介したい。
